VIVES invests in the necessity of incorporating a program through its activities to respect and protect the environment. Society has become aware of the importance of the environment that we are surrounded by, and likewise, they demand the same from every business. Vives have invested heavily trying to lead from the front ensuring that their processes and products are more and more sustainable, through different strategies such as the implantation of zero emissions in our facilities and the reduction in the consumption of raw materials and water consumption. Specific policies have long been in place such as internal recycling of waste residuals together with water and a strict focus on energy efficiency used throughout the manufacturing processes. It is these measures and policies which we want to transmit to our clients and why we have published FEELING ECO.

Through FEELING ECO, we want to show our commitment to sustainable building, offering our clients information about our products and company in order to help them gain green certifications for their activities, according to certification systems such as VERDE or LEED.

We are able to offer the Product Environmental Declaration for our range of porcelain floor tile that offers important information about a product lifetime, required for some eco-sustainable certification systems for building such as VERDE developed by the Green Building Council- Spain (GBEe), of which Vives is a member of.

Our products can help certify the sustainability of building projects according to the international system LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design developed by the U.S. Green Building Council) through a series of points gained in the following fields.

USE OF REGIONAL MATERIAL (MR Credit 5) Our red biscuit wall and floor tiles can help you obtain points in this field where the project is located within a 800km radius of our factories in Alcora, Castellon, Spain.
HEAT ISLAND EFFECT (SS Credit 7.1) Many of our products have a Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) greater than 29, helping to minimize the Heat Island Effect and therefore they are particularly suited to be fixed in the exterior.
LOW EMITTING MATERIALS (EQ Credit 4.3) Our products do not emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) due to the tiles being fired in very high temperatures helping to maintain a stable and healthy ambience in the exterior.
RECYCLED CONTENT (MR Credit 4) Pre-consumed recycled material is incorporated into the contents of our products acording to ISO 14021.
